We’ve wrapped up another successful group cruise — Japan Explorer aboard the Diamond Princess! It was such a joy to travel with our wonderful group of 28 cruisers as we explored the beauty, culture, and flavors of Japan, along with Busan, South Korea. Some of us even arrived two days early to discover more of Tokyo before embarking on our cruise.
 

This was my first time truly exploring Japan, beyond airport transits, and now I understand why it remains one of the world’s favorite travel destinations. Japan has so much to offer — rich culture and heritage, incredible cuisine, breathtaking scenery, and warm, respectful people. I was especially impressed by how clean and orderly everything was, and how much care and consideration people show toward one another.

And the food? Simply amazing! We had so much fun hopping from stall to stall at Tsukiji Market in Tokyo and Nishiki Market in Kyoto, sampling the delicious treats that caught our eyes. Every stop offered something new to discover!

Kyoto was my favorite city, with its beautiful blend of nature, tradition, and modern city life. Despite its progress and development, Kyoto preserves the cultural heritage and timeless charm that make Japan so special.

Our visits to Hiroshima and Nagasaki were deeply moving. Seeing the places shaped by the devastation of the atomic bomb was a poignant reminder of the human cost of war and the importance of peace.
 

I was also delighted that Busan, South Korea, was part of our itinerary. This vibrant, modern city impressed us with its towering buildings, beautiful coastal views, and clean beaches. One of the highlights was riding the Skyline Capsule, where we enjoyed stunning views of the coastline. And of course, we couldn’t leave without savoring a delicious Korean BBQ lunch!
 

Looking back, this cruise was truly one of my favorite travel experiences. From discovering new destinations and tasting local delicacies to sharing laughter and creating memories with our group, every moment made this journey special.

Would I do it all over again? Absolutely! Japan has captured my heart, and I would happily return to explore even more of this incredible country.
