French Daze & Ibiza Nights
Ship: Valiant Lady
Dates: October 9–16, 2022
Our 7-night cruise aboard Valiant Lady began and ended in Barcelona, giving us time to settle in and ease into the journey. Before embarkation, we enjoyed a city tour of Barcelona and were especially amazed by the Sagrada Familia—a beautiful start to our trip.
Our first port of call was Marseille, where we explored the city and visited the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, taking in views of the coastline and cityscape.
Next was a two-day stop in Cannes. On the first day, we took a memorable excursion to Monaco, where we witnessed the changing of the guards at the Prince’s Palace and toured a local perfume factory. We also passed through Nice on our way back to the ship. The second day in Cannes was more relaxed—we stayed near the cruise port, enjoying a leisurely walk, browsing shops, and sampling the local restaurants.
We arrived in Olbia, Sardinia, under gray skies. Unfortunately, the weather led to the cancellation of our original tour. Still, we managed to take a short walk through the city and soak in a bit of its charm.
Ibiza welcomed us next, and we were lucky to have an overnight stay. Some ventured out to explore the island’s shops, beaches, and nightlife, while others stayed on board to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and amenities.
After disembarking, we visited Montserrat—a peaceful way to end the trip—and stayed one more night in Barcelona before heading home.
This cruise was the perfect blend of sightseeing, quiet moments, and connection. We returned with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for these Mediterranean gems.
